Sizzling Performance
The A980 is able to take the latest desktop
Pentium 4 processors with Northwood core and 533MHz FSB,
right up to 3.06GHz, thus enabling the user to operate the
most powerful CPUs on the market today and run the latest
software applications with ease. The super fast performance
of the A980 is guaranteed to meet the demanding needs of
professionals always 'on the go' and speed-hungry gaming
enthusiasts.
Being extremely versatile, the A980 also takes older
Willamette core CPUs with speeds of 1.4GHz and above. |
Chipset
The A980 features the SiS651/962 chipset with
integrated 256-bit 3D graphics accelerator for Intel Pentium
4 processors. The graphics accelerator supports a shared
memory size of up to 64MB, and also supports advanced
hardware acceleration for DVD playback. The AGP 4X interface
ensures crisp and clear graphics quality, while the
chipset’s Ultra-AGPII technology interconnects the
integrated VGA chip and memory controller, allowing data
transfer rates up to 2GB per second. SiS' special MuTIOL
technology provides 533MB/s bandwidth to connect the
chipset's north bridge and south bridge. |
DDR Memory
Even the most memory-hungry applications will not
cause a problem for the A980, which is equipped with one DDR
DIMM socket to support up to 512MB of DDR SDRAM (DDR266 or
DDR333). |
A Trustworthy Hard Drive
No matter whether you are operating everyday
office programs or the largest applications on the market,
the A980's hard drive won't let you down. The A980 takes
hard disk drives between 15GB and 40GB (ATA100/66/33). |
System Expansion, Connectivity
and Communication
The A980 bristles with an array of powerful
high-speed data transmission ports onboard, including four
USB 2.0 ports and an IEEE 1394 firewire port. A modem jack
and Ethernet jack further enhance the A980's connectivity
features. |
IEEE 1394
The IEEE 1394 firewire port enables fast data
transmission up to 400Mbps between consumer electronic audio
and video appliances, whilst also providing enhanced
connectivity for high-speed peripherals and portable
devices. Using the A980 to connect all one's electronic
appliances also allows for easy video editing. |
USB 2.0
The A980 comes with four USB 2.0 ports to provide
high-speed data transmission rates up to 480Mbps for
equipment such as high-density storage devices, video
conferencing cameras and high-resolution scanners (USB 1.1
backward compatible). |
Communication
The A980 has a built-in 56K modem and 10/100
Base-T LAN networking so that web surfing and e-mail
retrieval can be done anywhere and anytime. |
The A980 as a Home
Entertainment System
In addition to being the ideal computer product
for work applications, the A980 can also double as a fine
quality home entertainment system. The A980 is available
with either a 15" XGA TFT monitor LCD or a 14"/15" XGA TFT
notebook LCD screen with maximum resolutions of 1024 x 768.

enhanced stereo speakers with chamber. |
